Michael B. Woolley

Michael has been highly involved in the Birmingham non-profit community for close to thirty years. His son Zach was born very premature and as a result has cerebral palsy. When his son was diagnosed with CP at age one, a wonderful pediatric specialist said “you can either fold and let this beat you or you can be an advocate for your son and family!” He chose the latter and has served on many related non-profit boards such as UCP, (now United Ability), Very Special Arts, Children’s Hospital’s Parent/Patient Advisory Board, and Easterseals of the Birmingham Area to name a few.

Michael has many years of media and corporate interaction being on television, radio, and print along with many presentations to grant and lobby sources. For years, while volunteering in these entities, he enjoyed a long career in litigation support. In 2019, he accepted the job of Executive Director of Easterseals of the Birmingham Area combining his love for the non-profit and philanthropic world with his business experience. Michael is very involved with the Episcopal Church both theologically and organizationally along with being a loyal alumni of the University of Montevallo. And, as an update – his son Zach, while facing many physical disabilities, has graduated from college with honors, completed an internship in D.C. and recently graduated from law school – all of which has a foundation in the healthcare support community. Michael feels he is very blessed to be in the position of Executive Director.
